Roslyn McAlister

Ros joined Townsville Centrals Centre in 1992.

She became a member of the Centre committee in 1993 and was Program Officer for five years and general committee member for seven years.

Ros has been actively involved in numerous LAQ committees. She spent five years as an Area Liaison Officer and five years as the Winter Centre Manager for the North Queensland Region. In more recent times Ros has been a member of the LAQ Officials Committee and is currently a member of the LAQ Competition Committee.

Ros was elected to the LAQ Board of Directors in 2004, where she served for six years as a General Director, with one of those years as Vice President. Following this, she was elected to the position of Finance Director of LAQ in 2011, where she served in the role for eight years. In total, Ros served on the LAQ Board of Directors for 15 years.

Ros has been officiating at Regional level for over 30 years including time as Regional Coordinator and Regional Secretary. She has been a key official for LAQ over many years in various roles, including Winter Championships Coordinator, Field Referee, Chief Judge and Walks Judge. Ros officiated at the Australian Little Athletics Championships in 2010 and 2018.

Ros has always been a strong and passionate advocate for Centres and athletes in North & Far North Queensland. She continues to visit Centres in the North that need assistance , extending her experience and knowledge to those who need it.

Ros has been rewarded with many honours and awards for her contribution to Little Athletics.

Ros has been a tremendous servant to Little Athletics for over 30 years and has made significant impacts to the strategic management of competition, development and the future direction for all athletes and Centres in the state.

She still remains actively involved at Centre, Region and State level and hopes to continue her involvement for many years to come.
