The Combined Event Championships
Combined Event Championships is a highlight of the Little Athletics Queensland calendar, bringing together versatile athletes ready to test themselves across multiple disciplines.
Designed for U9–U17 athletes, the Championships promote all-round development by encouraging participation in a wide range of events rather than early specialisation. The number of events per age group increases progressively to support athlete growth while reducing pressure on younger competitors.

Event Information
Event Eligibility
- U9–U12: May nominate for one (1) Combined Event.
- U13–U17: May select more than one Combined Event, provided the events selected are programmed on different days.
- Multi-Class U9–U17: May nominate for one (1) Combined Event
Multi-Class athletes may nominate in Multi-Class or Standard events. For further details on Multi-Class athlete participation and rules, please click below.
Specific Age Options:
- U13–U14: Pentathlon and one Triathlon, or two Triathlons
- U15–U17: Two Triathlons or the Heptathlon
Nomination Fee: $22.50 per athlete

LAQ Race Walking Hit Out
Sunday 31st January 27 – Prior to CEC
Venue:
Start Time: 7:30am
A fantastic development opportunity for athletes interested in Race Walking.
Key Information
- Open to all LAQ registered U9–U17 athletes
- Held on the SAF track, separate to the Combined Event Championships
- No medals awarded — focus is on development
- Athletes must wear approved Club uniform
- Timed and judged in accordance with LAQ competition rules
Event Schedule:
- First event at 7:30am – 1500m (U12–U17), followed by:
- 1100m (U10–U11)
- 700m (U9)
Call Room Information:
- Opens: 7:10am
- All athletes must report by 7:15am
- Location: Grassed area near the back straight 1500m start line
Nomination Fee: $10 per athlete

U7 & U8 Development Session
On Saturday 30th January, U7 and U8 athletes are invited to join LAQ staff for a fun and engaging 50-minute development session.
- Three 15-minute rotations
- Focus areas: Run, Jump and Throw
- Designed to build skills and confidence
