Little Athletics Queensland (LAQ) tries to strike a balance between the development, competitive and fun aspects of Little Athletics, through weekly activities organised at affiliated Centres, and Regional and State level Carnivals and Championships for registered athletes.

LOCALLY: Centre Committees organise weekly Centre activities / meets and Inter Centre meets.
REGIONALLY: Regional Committees organise Regional Championships and Relays.
STATE WIDE: LAQ organises State Carnivals and Championship competitions.

Competition Seasons
The competition year is split into two seasons, Summer and Winter. The season are based on geographic location. Centres north of Gladstone operate a Winter season, those South of Gladstone operate a Summer season. For further information on Centre lcoations and seasons please click HERE

Registration and Age Groups
Registration is from the sign-on date of the athlete to the commencement of the Centre’s following season. Athletes aged between 5 and 16 participate in specific age groups which are calculated from 1st January. The athletes will participate in that registered age group for an LAQ competition season.
