McDonald’s State Relay Championships
One of the most anticipated events on the Little Athletics Queensland calendar, the McDonald’s State Relay Championships is a true celebration of teamwork and Club pride.
This major LAQ event brings athletes together to compete in track and field relay teams—track relays showcasing speed and precision, and field relays highlighting strength, skill, and consistency. The result is an electric atmosphere, making it one of the most popular Association Days for both competitors and spectators alike.
Eligibility & Nomination
LAQ Summer Clubs (U9–U17)
- Athletes must qualify at their Regional Relays:
- 1st, 2nd or 3rd placed track teams
- 1st or 2nd placed field teams
- Clubs process all nominations.
- Qualifying athletes must notify their Club Committee as soon as possible if unable to participate.
- Declaration of Nominations are emailed to Clubs.
LAQ Winter Clubs (U9–U17)
- Eligible to direct nominate teams.
- Maximum of three (3) teams per event per Region.

Multi-Class Athlete Inclusion
LAQ registered and classified U9–U17 Multi-Class athletes must have participated at Regional Relays. For further details on Multi-Class athlete participation and rules, please click the button below.
Fees & Closing Date
All nominations and payments for State Relays are submitted through your club. Please check with your Club for its internal nomination and payment deadlines.
Nomination Fees:
- $28.00 per track team
- $14.00 per field team
Closing Date: 11:59pm Monday 30th November for clubs to submit nominations/payments to LAQ
Merchandise
The official McDonalds State Relays merchandise range is through Tribal Sport. All merchandise will be available for collection at the event. Orders are to be placed via the official online store.
For athletes travelling to Brisbane, accommodation close to the track is available at Comfort Inn & Suites Robertson Gardens. Contact their friendly team on (07) 3875 1999 and mention Little Athletics to receive LAQ member rates.
