Excitement Builds for the 2026 McDonald’s State Championships

The 2026 McDonald’s State Championships will take centre stage from Friday 20 March to Sunday 22 March, bringing together the best young athletes from across the state for the pinnacle event of the Little Athletics season.

More than 2,000 athletes will compete across the three-day championship, showcasing their hard work, dedication and passion for athletics throughout the season.

A Program Guide containing everything you need to know ahead of the championships will also be released early next week, helping athletes and families prepare for the big weekend.

Athletes will also have the chance to meet Australian athletics great Sally Pearson, who will be attending the championships as a Coles Ambassador. Sally will be at the track on Saturday from 11:30am – 1:30pm, signing autographs and meeting athletes and families.

There will be plenty happening around the venue across the weekend with a range of sponsor activations for athletes and spectators to enjoy.

Located on Level 2 of the stadium, you’ll find activations from event partners including:

  • McDonald’s
  • Coles
  • HART Sport
  • Tribal Sport
  • Impi Sportswear

Out the front of the stadium, Optus will have inflatable activities set up for athletes and families to enjoy across the weekend.

Several services will also be available across the championships:

  • Medal engraving services
  • Zen Massage for post-competition recovery
  • Action Photography, the Official Event Photographers, will be capturing all the action across the full weekend.
