Regional Competitions

Queensland is divided into 11 regions for competition purposes. See images below to find your region.

Each year, Little Athletics Queensland delivers two exciting Regional Competition opportunities for athletes across the state:

HART Regional Relays

☀️ Summer Regions: November

Regional Relays

The HART Regional Relays bring Clubs together in a fun, team-focused competition environment at a local venue. Athletes in the U7–U17 age groups compete in both track and field relay events, building teamwork, club pride and regional spirit.

  • Track relay teams consist of four (4) athletes.
  • Field relay teams include all nominated athletes in that age group’s event.

The HART Regional Relays also serve as the pathway to the McDonald’s State Relay Championships.

HART Regional Championships

❄️ Winter Regions: September
☀️ Summer Regions: February

Regional Championships

The HART Regional Championships provide a local, welcoming and competitive environment for all LAQ-registered athletes in the U7–U17 age groups.

These Championships serve as the only official qualification event for the McDonald’s State Championships, giving athletes the opportunity to progress to the state level.
