PARENT VOLUNTEERS
Your Role as a Little Athletics Parent
As a parent, your support plays a big role in your child’s Little Athletics experience. From building fitness and friendships to growing confidence and enjoying being active, the benefits last well beyond the track. Whether your child competes for fun or aims higher, your encouragement helps keep sport positive, enjoyable and rewarding. Most importantly — let them enjoy the journey.
Parents – Be Part of the Action!
Little Athletics relies on parent involvement each week to keep competitions running smoothly. There are many ways to help, including raking pits, setting up equipment, measuring and recording results, managing age groups, officiating, or helping in the canteen. Every role contributes to a safe, fun and successful competition day.
No experience? No problem! Training and support are provided, and there’s a role for everyone. Getting involved also allows you to share in your child’s sporting journey and connect with your Centre community. Speak with your Centre committee to find out how you can help.
Get Involved – Parent Helper Videos
To help parents and guardians feel confident, Little Athletics Queensland has created a How-To Video Series. These short 60–90 second videos explain key tasks and roles at weekly meets.
