This award aims to promote, encourage and reward quality Little Athletics coaching. This award will be presented to an individual who has made a significant contribution to Little Athletics within their community. This individual, by their coaching and enthusiasm promotes the values and philosophies of Little Athletics and junior sport in general and is prepared to extend their qualifications for the development of athletes. 

The winner of the 2025 Little Athletics Queensland Coach of the Year is Shane Pearson from Arana.   

Shane goes beyond measure for his athletes. His professional guidance and personal touch have brought many athletes to reach goals they didn’t see possible. Shane coaches athletes across many Centres and the support and encouragement he provides to each athlete regardless of their Centre, is valuable and inspiring. He shows kindness, care and belief and provides expertise and technical understanding to each athlete in each session. His patience, willingness and dedication to be there for his athletes at Centre meets, as well as carnivals and Championships helps give his athletes that extra boost of confidence in their abilities.
