Nominees for the merit award must have given a minimum of eight years’ service at Centre level.  This involvement should clearly demonstrate a commitment to furthering the growth and development of their Centre.  They should have been involved at Centre Committee for at least three years and have had regular involvement at Association competitions.  

Vanessa has been a highly valued member of Maroochy for 13 years with her commitment to the betterment of the Centre’s administration often going unnoticed. Her aim is to always support the Centre, its members and ultimately, LAQ. She has managed several large sponsorships and grants to better the facilities of the Centre. Over the years, this has included the installation of discus cages, shot put pads, track lighting, synthetic long jump run ups, canteen fit out, shelving in the equipment shed and new equipment for the benefit of their athletes. She was also the Centre’s ‘covid guru’ during the challenging times of the early 2020’s. No matter what is thrown at her, Vanessa takes it in her stride and always with a smile. She is a Life Member of Maroochy Centre and a worthy recipient of the LAQ Merit Award.
