Frank Knight Memorial Coach of the Year

David Frazer - Strathpine

This award aims to promote, encourage and reward quality Little Athletics coaching. This award will be presented to an individual who has made a significant contribution to Little Athletics within their community. This individual, by their coaching and enthusiasm promotes the values and philosophies of Little Athletics and junior sport in general and is prepared to extend their qualifications for the development of athletes. 

The winner of the 2025 Little Athletics Queensland Coach of the Year is David Frazer from Strathpine.   

David is a driving force behind Strathpine’s success, dedicating over a decade to coaching
and athlete development. As a volunteer lead coach, he contributes a minimum of 15 hours
per week, totalling more than 330 hours each season. He leads highly structured training
sessions three times weekly, supporting athletes of varying ages and abilities, regularly
attracting 30–50 athletes per session-a testament to the effectiveness of his programs.
David promotes participation, skill development, and enjoyment. He is passionate about
supporting older athletes to continue in the sport and established Strathpine Athletics to
provide this pathway.
