Coles Summer Carnival Series
The Coles Summer Carnival Series is designed to give all U9–U17 athletes the opportunity to experience their favourite events across two smaller, separate competition days—without the pressures of a large-scale competition or Championship event.
Proudly delivered by Little Athletics Queensland, the focus is simple: fun, friendship, and great competition and experiences. Athletes of all abilities can enjoy the events while proudly representing their Club.
Across both Series events, LAQ Club athletes earn points toward a single Competition Club Weighted Points Trophy, reinforcing team spirit and collective achievement.
What Makes the Summer Carnival Series Special?
The 100m Gift Races
A Summer Carnival highlight! First-placed athletes in the U9–U17 age groups are invited to compete in a thrilling handicapped 100m Gift Race, with starting distances calculated from each athlete’s recorded 100m time. It’s fast, tactical and exciting to watch!

Eligibility
Open to all LAQ registered U9 – U17 Athletes.
Key Information
Event Limits
- Maximum of three (3) individual events per athlete (where offered).
Nomination Fee
- $22.50 per athlete / competition series
Uniform Requirements
- LAQ registered athletes must wear their approved LAQ Club uniform to enter the competition arena.
Merchandise
The official Coles Summer Carnival merchandise range is through Tribal Sport. All merchandise will be available for collection at the event. Orders are to be placed via the official online store.
